Unibase by DMAC, Release 7.48i
Enters QA Cycle; Out for Christmas

Unibase by DMAC, release 7.48i, and the related Unibase Imaging and WebBase by DMAC, entered the quality assurance phase in September with delivery planned as soon as the process is completed. This is the eighth major update of Unibase by DMAC which has not required an upgrade path (which are always provided by DMAC) – just load the new executables and go.

New features in release 7.48i are described in detail elsewhere in this newsletter. They include fifteen character file names for Microsoft 32 bit operating systems, high speed 7000 plus records per second import of files, high speed 7000 plus records per second indexing of files, multiple verb objects, 32 Bit Microsoft version no longer requires loading of 16 bit Microsoft version, 32 Bit Rfmouse with Windows ME look, separate new update features for data entry and image entry, new list box verb, new command line drun features, new update features for unformatted and formatted files, new declare verb options, and new index merging capabilities have been added to the Unibase environment.

In addition to the new features, improved awareness of the Microsoft environment allows operation on all Microsoft clients and servers with better recovery from Microsoft "specific operating system undocumented features ( Microsoft bugs)."
