32 Bit Microsoft Version Freed from 16 Bit Version

For the past four years DMAC has always installed the 16 bit Microsoft version of Unibase by DMAC whenever the 32 bit version was chosen. If the 32 Bit Microsoft version of Unibase by DMAC is installed, it was in addition to the 16 Bit version. Starting with Unibase by DMAC release 7.48i the 32 bit Microsoft version can be installed without installing the 16 bit version.

The 32 bit version is now as reliable as the 16 bit version. The speeds are nearly identical. The feature list is almost identical. There is no reason not to separate the two versions. As long as 15 character file names are not chosen as an option, both 16 and 32 bit versions can continue to coexist. Who knows what will happen as Microsoft brings out its next release after ME. DMAC will be ready.
