Siemens Nixdorf and DMAC Enter Into Partner Agreement Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems, Inc. (SNI) has chosen Unibase by DMAC as part of its Year 2000 Conversions and Migrations Solutions. These solutions provide a means for Siemens Nixdorf 8850, X80, 600, 8870 and Targon users to support the next millennium. Using Unibase by DMAC, Unibase Imaging, and the Unibase conversion programs, SNI people will offer a complete solution from start to finish utilizing the latest state of the art hardware including all necessary migration/conversion services which consist of:
We at DMAC are extremely pleased to provide this increased availability of our Unibase by DMAC and Unibase Imaging software as well as our related support services, including this newsletter. Working with SNI we in one step have increased multifold the number of people who can assist users in the Unibase by DMAC environment. Users can now get whatever level of support they need in using DMAC products without diluting DMAC's development and rapid response to an ever changing client need. As more users move to Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows NT servers, larger and faster hardware, deeper OS support, and 24 hour on-line monitoring of the OS become almost a necessity. No longer will a fast PC serve as a Windows NT server. (See Timings article in this issue.) SNI can now provide these items for the Unibase by DMAC environment. Large Talent Pool Assists Users In addition, as the modularization of imaging solutions through FIS (Forms Interchange Standard) and soon VICI (Vendor Independent Component Imaging) becomes the standard way of implementing imaging solutions, the in-depth talent, expertise, and experience of the SNI team will greatly assist Unibase Imaging users. Expertise Available To All Not only will the SNI support be available for previous SNI clients, but also for all DMAC clients and new clients. Gearing Up Will Take Some Time At DMAC we are gearing up to increase the pace in all areas. Certainly, this will be the beginning of more rapid response, deeper Quality Assurance, additional improvements and better feedback. As we gear up, the culture differences, terminology differences, knowledge differences, and who knows what else between SNI and DMAC will add to the excitement for several months. DMAC Dealers Welcome Seimens We, and I am sure the other dealers in our dealer network, welcome Siemens as a dealer for Unibase by DMAC as part of our hard working dealer network. It is not often we Lilliputians can have Oliver as a partner. Gulliver's Size & Strength Help All Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems, Inc. with its installed base, accent on migration/conversion services, and its hundreds of people providing implementation services obviously brings our client and dealer network into the critical mass for implementing forms processing solutions while preserving the competitive ability and creative size of DMAC as software component solution providers. Open Standards Receive a Boost We look forward to working in a true open architecture under such open standards as might grow from the ofrms processing industries Forms Interchange Standard (FIS) and Vendor Independent Component Imaging (VICI). In addition we look forward to bringing the Unibase by DMAC and Unibase Imaging software into compliance with Siemens Nixdorf's OLE/COBRA compliant ComUnity software solutions. Better Technology Comes For All This is a significant technology step bringing Unibase by DMAC and Unibase Imaging into the integrated vendors/mega-architectures of today and leading them into true open components of tomorrow.
