Object Oriented Screen Painting Is Drop In Replacement Module

Summer intern and daughter Catherine Tarbox, fresh from another straight A year and a C++ programming methods course at Duke University, rewrote the screen painting portion of Unibase by DMAC so that the warning message about losing check box information when revisiting screen painting could disappear. This new object oriented screen paining will be demonstrated at the TAWPI show.

Twelve Year Deficiency Corrected

This twelve year deficiency in Unibase by DMAC ( and other similar products) was so embedded that the new object oriented code had to be written from scratch. The new rfscr.exe module does just what the old module did. Reminds me of a new card reader shipped to us for a system in 1968. We called the manufacturer and asked why. The answer was "this one reads cards." The new rfscr works the way we in the 1990's think it should. Users need no new instructions.

Initially sent out in beta format for 7.31i; a version of it could be dropped back into 7.2 or 7.2i if required. Updating to 7.31i probably makes more sense.

Now, with the last major stumbling block removed, Field Dictionaries are just around the corner. Catherine will be adding enhancements to the new module for the remainder of the summer before she heads to Spain for a semester at the Madrid campus of Duke University.
