Saving the Last Possible Keystroke Is Aim of Two New Variables

Environment variables UBDUPT and UBAUTOT have been added  to Unibase  by  DMAC, release 7.46i to save a  keystroke.  When UBDUPT is set to "Y", the  operator will be positioned at the first position of a duplicating field with the auto function turned  off. This will replace the error message "121  -  No Corresponding Field To Dup."

When environment variable UBAUTOT is set to "Y", it  affects operator  forward and back operations in a variety of  ways. These various ways have to do with the condition of the AUTO indicator  and fields which have AUTO functions  defined  in their  checkbox edits. See  the readme file which comes  with Unibase by DMAC for all the rules.

For instance, If AUTO is off, a record forward will position the operator at the first keying position of the next record in the batch. AUTO will remain off so that the operator may be paced into a field which has AUTO functions defined. (Without this environment variable, this operation places the operator at the last keying positon of the current record.)
