Beta Site Contribute to Knowledge; Do Not Always Provide Solutions

Over and above the "for Mom and Apple Pie" ideas that we receive from our clients, about a dozen times a year, a Unibase by DMAC client suggests an extension or feature for Unibase by DMAC which has promise but cannot justify an investment based upon the current facts. The promise is valid-- but so are the risks

Beta Sites Are Special Sites

To attack these types of opportunities a short duration Beta agreement between the client and DMAC is set up. The client defines the new feature and agrees to test this feature; DMAC builds further specifications and agrees to code the feature.

If success is defined as a cost effective improvement; the success rate on beta projects is about fifty percent. If the features is an improvement, then the feature is made available to all -- usually by setting an environment variable.

Thanks To the Brave Betas

We at DMAC want to thank those who participated in the beta projects in 1994 for their support and contribution. We want to solicit new ideas and features for 1995. If you have an idea for a new feature which will help you; please let us know at DMAC. Just call us or fax us or soon use internet to contact us.
