Screen Painting in Unibase Release 7.43i As promised before, all 16 bit Unibase by DMAC client users now have a choice at execution time between either the new Graphical or current Menu User Interface (GUI or MUI) screen painting. The beta users for this 7.43i release feature say GUI is easier to use than MUI. Both the GUI and MUI interfaces support the same set of features. The MUI interface has always required a mouse when images are being handled, so the transition to the GUI interface is easiest for the image entry job builders. GUI Is Start of Next Generation The GUI interface is part of the next generation of Unibase by DMAC. It is written in ANSI C++ (rather than ANSI C) and uses a class library which is constant over both the 16 and 32 bit versions of Unibase by DMAC for the Microsoft/IBM and UNIX operating systems. The GUI interface will be introduced as it passes quality assurance module by module over the coming months. Image entry is the next GUI interface to be released. It is scheduled for later this year.
