Users Can Call C/C++ Programs From Unibase by DMAC 7.42i

Users in Unibase by DMAC release 7.42i can now call their own C/C++ Programs in data entry, image entry and drun programs written in the AID language without a speed penalty using the new C_call verb --"C_call command gives result."

Can Pass and Receive Data

The new C_call verb allows users to pass data and to receive data from their own C/C++ programs. For C/C++ programmers already set up with their own compiler, the C/C++ programmer can now use any C/C++ application program interface (API) to link additional packages to the Unibase by DMAC environment.

Calling Database API Targeted

We at DMAC are now testing this approach for such things as directly calling sql databases from within the AID language, and other types of database applications.

Speedy Interface Is Good

For years we have tried to perfect this type of a speedy interface -- especially for use in field edits. It is so fast and so good, we don't want to tell too much about it in this newsletter for fear we will tip our competitors as to how we accomplished it. Call us and we will willingly tell our clients and prospects about this great new feature.

In MS/IBM Now, UNIX Soon

Currently it works on the Microsoft/IBM based distribution of Unibase by DMAC, but soon we hope to move it to the UNIX environment.
