Spanish Edition of Unibase Takes Shape and Form

DMAC plans to provide a Spanish Edition of Unibase by DMAC. In late 1999 Gerry O'Malley began the process of determining how to sell more DMAC products overseas. The Spanish Edition helps meet this goal. Noreen Dunlap and Linda Dimick are creating the edition.

DMAC has Spanish sales literature.

The web sites are being converted to provide Spanish translations as fast as possible.

All Unibase environment file-based items have been converted to provide Spanish translations.

After some discussion, the verbs and control functions ( i.e., the reserved words) of the AID language are being converted to Spanish for this edition.

We thank our dealer in Taiwan for our approach to translating to Spanish. Our dealer sends us email in Chinglish. Chinglish is English created from Chinese with a computer program. The beauty of Chinglish is that it is readable in English and any malapropisms are consistently translated the same way. This works well for us technical people. We hope our Spanglish is as pleasing to Spanish-speaking people as the Chinglish is to us.

Coupled with our new country dependent licensing approach, we hope these changes win us favor in Spanish speaking countries.
