| UNIX/LINUX Flavors Gain User
Favor
Unibase by DMAC, release 7.46i or later, passes quality assurance on UNIX on HP, SCO Unixware, and Solaris (Intel & Sun) and LINUX on Redhat. Naturally, it also runs on all Microsoft products and Novell. All these operating environments work well as checked out in the past six months. DMAC's CD-ROM now has all of the above versions on it. Thus if a user wishes to compare or switch server operating systems, the software is available. The speed advantage of UNIX/LINUX flavors may be giving some clients a productivity advantage. The LINUX cost may be a factor also. Quality Assurance has stepped up its efforts to close the time gap among the first versions of a new release and ports to all systems of that release. Development for some time could do a port in a very short time. They hope to automate further in 2000. |
